We are blessed with many pan-asian restaurants in Pittsburgh. Blessed, I tell you! There are so many Pad Thai’s in this city that I haven’t even tried them all! Not even close! Of course, I always hear little hints, like ‘don’t get it at the one truck at CMU, but the other one is OK but not great’, or ‘it’s fine at LuLu’s except for the weird, big, firm pieces of tofu’, and so on and so forth. But still, I have tried many, and of course I have a favorite. Spice Island. Their pad thai is my fave! No ifs, ands, or buts about it, at least in my opinion. This place is bombasticular! No seriously, it’s rockin’ like dokken. It’s in the zone, off the hook, over the wall, and under the radar. In other words, it’s a quiet little spot with bitchin’ food that doesn’t get the attention it deserves. It may be expensive, but believe me you, it is worth every dime, every time. (more…)

Finding your bagel place is tricky. Usually it boils down to whatever is closest to your place of residence – I mean, all bagels are the same, right? No! They are totally not the same! The Bagel Factory makes an Old-Skool bagel of the variety not seen so much anymore. And that’s not all – salads, soups, sandwiches, breads, coffee, lox, and a bevy of bakery items are plenteous and all of high quality.
